Connecting Farms to Families

The Central Valley grows much of the nation's food, yet many communities here still struggle with access to fresh, healthy, and affordable options. At the same time, small farms and food businesses face challenges staying competitive in a fast-changing economy. A stronger local food system can improve public health, create jobs, and celebrate the region’s agricultural heritage—but it requires community support.

F3 Local connects the dots between farmers, food entrepreneurs, and everyday residents. Our work increases access to local, nutritious food while building relationships that keep resources circulating in the region. Whether you’re shopping at a farmers’ market, attending a local food fair, or volunteering at a workshop, your involvement matters. We support:

  • Events and programs that connect communities with local food producers

  • Campaigns to raise awareness about buying local and eating well

  • Efforts to bring more fresh food to schools, grocery stores, and neighborhoods

  • Partnerships that promote health equity and food access in under-resourced areas

  • Public spaces—like food halls and marketplaces—where the community can gather around food
